
How to get food from Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes:
1. Grocery Pantry Program: a program that provides groceries based on your household size. This program is based on a self-declaration of need and has no income requirements. Households “shop” for food items of their choosing at one of 25 pantries located throughout Kalamazoo County. Click HERE for more information or call 343-FOOD (3663) to connect to a pantry today.
2. Mobile Food Initiative: Bulk food is distributed at eight different locations throughout the month. There are no income or other eligibility requirements. Food is available on a first come first served basis. Click HERE for more information and to view dates, times, and locations of distribution sites.
3. Commodity Supplemental Food Program: A Federal Program that supports local seniors and mother’s and children that are not currently receiving WIC. There are income and eligibility requirements for this program. Food is available once a month. Click HERE for more information on how to sign up for this program.
4. Weekend Food Pack Program: Through a partnership with Communities in Schools of Kalamazoo, eligible schoolchildren receive a food pack to take home at the end of the week to help get them through the weekend hours when other food options may be scarce. If your child’s school has a KCIS representative, speak with them for more details.
5. Meal Support Program: Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes distributes food to other institutions who provide meals, including Ministry with Community and the YWCA Domestic Assault Shelter. Click on the link to connect with other local agencies if you’re in need of additional services.
6. Food Assistance Outreach Program: Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes is partnering with local organizations to help eligible residents sign up to receive Food Stamp benefits. Our staff and volunteers can help you determine your eligbility and get the correct documents sent in to the Department of Human Services. Call (269) 366-7236 to receive assistance.

If pantry capacity has been reached on the day you need service, you may seek meals through other local agencies:
- Ministry with Community, 440 N. Church St., Kalamazoo: Open for breakfast (from 8 – 9 am) and lunch (1:30 pm – 2:30 pm) daily
- The Gospel Mission, 448 N. Burdick St., Kalamazoo: Open for breakfast (7 am), lunch (12:30 pm daily or 1 pm Sundays), and dinner (6 pm daily)
