Planned Giving

Planned Giving

Create a legacy that will grow for generations to come...

Planned giving is one of the most effective and sustainable ways to leave a lasting legacy in your name. You can plan a meaningful gift now that will meet a basic need that is so vital in the success of our friends, neighbors and children, while simultaneously balancing your philanthropic goals and financial needs.

Your long-term support will enable KLF to extend our services in Kalamazoo County for years to come in a convenient and meaningful way for you. After ensuring your loved ones have been cared for, you can use a variety of assets to make a planned gift and accomplish your charitable goals.

Bequests:

A charitable bequest enables you to retain control over your assets during your lifetime and support the community later. A gift can be made in a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or from the remainder after other bequests are made.

Retirement Plans:

IRAs or 401(k) plans are ideal to leave to charity because they're taxed so heavily when left to heirs. When your retirement plan assets are designated for KLF, we receive 100% of the gift.

Life Insurance:

You can name KLF as the owner and beneficiary of your policy, or maintain ownership and designate KLF as the beneficiary.

Stock Gifts:

Transferring cash and securities from your personal accounts to Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes is a relatively easy process. To initiate a transfer or to set up a planned gift, please contact Greta Faworski, Associate Director, a 269.488.2617 ext. 208.
